Thanks from the Heart


Thank you all so much for supporting Art from the Heart the past 3 months! We've had an amazing experience and have worked with some fantastic nonprofits and artists! In the next few weeks, we will be putting out a survey to get some feedback on the gallery as we prepare for the future. We will keep you updated as we plan our next steps.

Terrence L. Gore's "The Stroke Of Genius"

The Warrior Writers Fourth Friday event was wonderful! Filled with powerful spoken poetry from some of the artists of the exhibit, the gallery took witness to incredible visual and performance art!

Our last exhibition in this space, Terrence L. Gore's "The Stroke Of Genius", is no exception to the talent that our walls have seen!

"Creating is another form of my healing, it regenerates me and transforms my enthusiasm to its higher heights! This new collection of works explore the diversity of my gifts as it interprets the story of my new developments and the multidimensional experiences of my realities and fantasies." Art Making Party this Saturday!

Yes it's time to let your creativity run wild again! Join us for an Art Making Party/Closing Reception for the Overbrook School for the Blind!

We will have paper, paint, crayons, markers, clay, beads, string, and all sorts of art supplies on hand for you to create art with, as well as artists to interact with, collaborate with, and learn from! Join in on an interactive community art piece of create your own masterpiece! Experience the astounding art of the students and community of the Overbrook School for the Blind, and get inspired to create! Take a break from it all and relax on the second floor and watch incredible movies on the giant projector! Something for everyone of every age!

Overbrook School for the Blind now exhibiting at Art from the Heart

Art from the Heart is proud to present an amazing exhibit of art by the students and community of the Overbrook School for the Blind! Featuring tons of incredible work, this inspiring exhibit will leave you in awe!

Creation Station Success!

The Creation Station Art Making Party was a huge success! We had over 100 people participate in either art-making or dance-making! Even the Deli talked about us! Thanks to everyone who attended, participated, supported and performed at the event, especially The Hacktory, DJ Adam, and City Rain! Make sure to stop by the gallery to check out the art that was created at this event on our second floor!

Creation Station Art Making Party


Do you love to make art? Do you love to dance? Then we have the event for you! Join us on April 2 for the Creation Station Art Making Party! Come on down to 535 South Street between 4-8 to create your masterpiece. We will have various art and craft supplies on hand to create with, as well as artists to interact with, collaborate with, and learn from, including representatives from the Hacktory! Paint! Draw! Graffiti! Make Books! Work with Clay! Make Jewelry! And a whole lot more! Let your creativity run wild!

Be sure to stay for the dance party from 8-12, featuring live performances by:

Blown Away (Acoustic Folk + Live Drawing)
DJ Adam B of Y-Rock on WXPN (electronic music)
DJ Blueshift (French House and groovy dance music)
City Rain (blend of electro, rock, and spacey music...This two-piece will bringing down the house!)

All for only a $5 suggested donation, or free with a donation of art supplies! All proceeds will be split between Project H.O.M.E. and the operating cost of the gallery.

Gallery opens Today!

Art From the Heart Gallery Opening in March 2011

Welcome to the web page for the Art From the Heart Gallery! The gallery will open in March 2011 on South Street, as part of the Magic Garden's Arts on South program.

Our goal with the gallery is to showcase art by vulnerable and underrepresented populations. We are working with the following talented communities: Project H.O.M.E, The Overbrook School for the Blind, ActionAIDS, and Warrior Writers.

Please join us for our fundraiser on February 4th at the Moonstone Arts Center. The cost is $10, but all proceeds go directly to the operating costs of the gallery. No profits will be made!
